DX for Summerslam

domingo, 2 de agosto de 2009.

- Scott sent the following: On Lilian Garcia's official MySpace she's put her upcoming schedule up and the last time she is scheduled for Raw is August 24th in Las Vegas, the day after her 10 year anniversary. So, I guess that's her last day with WWE.

- The latest word on Michelle McCool is that her injury from Friday night is legit. She was defending the WWE Women's Title against Eve Torres when her left knee got caught underneath her and went out. No word yet on the severity of the injury or how long she may be out. Michelle was scheduled to face Melina at the WWE live event last night in Bethlehem, PA but Katie Lea ended up taking her place.

- Devin Cutting sent the following: Even though WWE changed the name of Cyber Sunday to Bragging Rights, it appears that fans will still get to vote on aspects of the show.

- Eugene (real name Nick Dinsmore) made his official WWE return at Saturday night’s SmackDown/ECW house show in New Hampshire.Eugene was released on September 1, 2007 for reportedly receiving his third strike in the WWE Wellness program. Eugene wrestled Ricky Ortiz in the third match on the card, and is expected to feud with Ortiz when he returns to TV on the SmackDown brand. His return is rumored for the August 7th episode, but things can always change. According to official documents released earlier this year, WWE released Eugene for his third failed Wellness test.

-- Maryse will be out of action for at least three months following her knee surgery on Tuesday.

- It looks like Triple H will be facing Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes on next week's RAW in a Handicap match. Let the speculation begin on a Shawn Michaels return for next week's show to reunite DX.

Today´s Raw news

lunes, 15 de junio de 2009.

-- Chris Masters was indeed hired back by World Wrestling Entertainment this past week. "The Masterpiece" had a meeting with Vince McMahon at the Los Angeles tapings a few weeks ago and was recommended by Randy Orton to be brought back. Many in WWE are curious as to how he will look like when he returns as it was noted that it will send a message. WWE released Masters from his contract on November 8, 2007 six days after he had been suspended for 60 days for having violated the company's drug testing policy on a second occasion. The suspension was for 60 days because he had been previously suspended on August 30, 2007 when the Signature Pharmacy scandal broke out. Shortly after his return to the ring, he was suspended for failing a drug test. Contrary to his Wikipedia bio, Masters was not suspended when he quietly taken off the road in May 2006. Masters entered a drug rehabilitation due to an issue with prescription painkillers, but it did not count as a strike against because there was no drug test failure associated with him being sent to rehab. He returned to WWE four months later with much less muscle mass, leading Jerry "The King" Lawler to refer to him as "leaner and meaner" Chris Masters.
- As announced this week on Friday Night SmackDown, CM Punk will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against Edge and Jeff Hardy in a three-way bout this Monday night. As it turns out, the match was originally scheduled to take place at The Bash pay-per-view later this month, but due to next Monday's three-hour RAW, it's being moved up. As of Thursday, the creative team were still scrambling on how to figure things out for Monday's show, not to mention how it would all lead to matches for the pay-per-view in two weeks.
- In a follow-up on an earlier report, Rey Mysterio did not hand in his notice to WWE officials as he still remains in the company. However, there are some issues between both sides which need to be worked out.
- Hurricane Helms made his ring return Saturday night at the SmackDown/ECW live event in Binghamton, New York. Helms teamed with Evan Bourne to lose to The Hart Dynasty after Helms took the Hart Attack.
- Saturday night's SmackDown/ECW event also saw WWE Hall of Famer Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat defeat WWE developmental talent Drew McIntyre.
- Triple H has been back on the road with the RAW brand this weekend, defeating Randy Orton in the show's main events.
- WWE will present a three-hour episode of tonight's RAW from Charlotte, NC at the Time Warner Cable Arena. The theme of tonight's show will be the "Three-For-All" edition. Matches confirmed include an ECW Title match with Tommy Dreamer vs. Christian, a World Heavyweight Title match with CM Punk vs. Edge vs. Jeff Hardy and a match to crown a new WWE Champion with Randy Orton vs. Triple H vs. Big Show vs. John Cena.
- World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. has named Mike Pavone as Executive Vice President of WWE Studios. In his new role, Pavone will lead WWE Studios’ theatrical releases, direct-to-DVD movies, series and reality programming and report directly to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
Pavone brings with him more than 18 years of experience in the film and television industry having worked as a writer, producer, director and actor. His projects include such notable titles as: The Client (CBS), Prison Break (FOX), High Incident with Steven Spielberg (ABC), Jack & Jill (WB), Against The Grain (NBC), Street Time (Showtime), The Blue Wall (Disney), Northmen for Warner Bros. and Seven Men from Now for Beacon Films.

Rey Mysterio could quit!!!

domingo, 14 de junio de 2009.

- Rey Mysterio's WWE status remains the week's biggest mystery. Earlier this week, rumors, supported by the fact that Mysterio missed this week's television taping, claimed that the wrestler had quit WWE. Numerous media outlets quickly noted that Mysterio's absence was a scheduled break to nurse lingering injuries; it thus could not be used as evidence to support rumors of his giving notice. As the weekend rolled in, F4WOnline.com reported that while Mysterio had not, in fact, quit the company, he did have ongoing issues with WWE management. That source added Saturday evening that Mysterio's heat with WWE officials is a two-sided conflict over "money issues." More details were not available.Interestingly, F4WOnline's report only focuses on the tension between the two parties--it does not directly address the significance Mysterio's injury played in explaining his absence. In any event, Mysterio is not expected to leave WWE over the conflict.

- In an interview with the Charlotte Observer, former WWE Champion Randy Orton says he hopes to follow a different path than industry veterans like Ric Flair.Though he does not mention "The Nature Boy" by name in the relevant quote, it is clear that Orton does not believe wrestlers like Flair epitomize his ideal wrestling legacy.“I don't want to put myself in a position where financially I need to perform when I'm 60 or 50 or even in my mid-40s. There will be a time when I'm a dad of two or three and I just want to be at home with my family," says Orton.Orton nonetheless praises Flair's contribution to his success as a WWE performer. He offers, “He was one of my mentors when I started. If it wasn't for him and Triple H and my father [former wrestler Cowboy Bob Orton], I wouldn't be where I am now."

- There is talk that the supposed "four month" absence for Batista might be overstated hype on WWE's part. Sources have conflicted on the matter - some say he will take more time off (and not return until the Royal Rumble), while others believe he can return as soon as Summerslam. What is certain, however, is that Batista is indeed injured and did indeed undergo surgery - rumors to the contrary are absolutely false.
