DX for Summerslam
Edge will come back at Royal Rumble
- World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of Raw Superstar Brian Kendrick as of today, July 30, 2009. WWE wishes Brian the best in all future endeavors.
- The current idea with the storyline between Ezekiel Jackson and Vladimir Kozlov on ECW is to make them a team and tag title contenders to Chris Jericho and Big Show.
-- Big Show's new ring attire is designed to make him look thinner and more athletic in the ring.
-- The WWE creative team is currently working under the impression that Edge will be out for the remainder of 2009. The best case scenario is said to be that he’ll be ready to return at Royal Rumble and build a feud with Chris Jericho for WrestleMania 26.
-- - In light of the news of Maryse needing surgery to repair a recurring knee injury, there was talk on Monday of turning one of the face Divas heel, with the mostly likely person being Gail Kim. It definitely appears she will be given the nod as there was a subtle hint in the Divas match on Monday as Kim tagged herself in to win the match just as James was getting ready to win the match for her team.
- The buzz at RAW last night in Washington, DC was that Shawn Michaels will make his return to the ring at SummerSlam and as speculated before, may be on RAW next week. More new promotional material for the pay-per-view just released is still featuring Shawn, for what it's worth.
Edge out for 6 months
The Undertaker come back in Summerslam
- There is still no solid word on when Shawn Michaels will be returning to WWE television. Michaels was pretty banged up after his WrestleMania match and has been at home recovering, much like The Undertaker. Michaels has said that he wants to take off an extended period of time to be with his family, although people within WWE definitely want him back sooner than later.
Shawn and Triple H are both known as guys who are good at talking Vince out of doing the campy comedy angles that he and lead RAW writer Brian Gewirtz both love.
- Sources say that World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk is banged up from some kind of injury but won’t be missing any time from it. Apparently it’s believed to be some kind of upper-body injury but nothing serious. Word is Punk has been doing his best to hide it but has been seen in some pain in the locker room.
While Punk isn’t expected to miss any time and it’s not anything really serious, he joins a long list of WWE talents who are banged up and hurting right now including Edge, Jeff Hardy, Rey Mysterio and others.
- - Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase are no longer be referred to as "Priceless," reports the F4W Newsletter. Rather, they will simply referred to as "Legacy." WWE recently issued a directive to the announcers regarding the change.

-- Undertaker is said to be working out very hard in preparation for his return. WWE hopes to have him back in time for a meaningful match at SummerSlam.Taker’s surgery was a success but he is said to still be banged up. He is pushing hard to get back and is said to be very dedicated to still performing at a high level for WWE.He feels that the company needs him and he wants to get back and help WWE and more specifically help the SmackDown brand. Taker has his mind set on returning sooner than later, despite sources within WWE feeling that at this point in his career he should be more cautious and make sure he is completely healthy before returning.
Vince McMahon vs Donald Trump...... Will Continue???
-- As was made clear with the angle on Monday's edition of WWE RAW, Donald Trump is no longer the storyline owner of RAW. But, following up on the Vince McMahon-Donald Trump pull-apart, WWE teased a future of heated encounters for the two tycoons. In a press release announcing Donald Trump's fictional sale and subsequent "firing," WWE noted that while "Trump is no longer the 'owner' of Monday Night Raw, this may not be the end of the feud between these two world class promoters."After selling Monday Night RAW to Donald Trump in a storyline on last week's show, Vince McMahon "bought" the brand back, at double Trump's cost, on Monday's show.-
- F4WOnline.com reports that Matt Hardy suffered an abdominal muscle injury--presumably a tear--during last night's Superstars match taping. He is slated to undergo surgery later this week.
-- WWE's 2009 Survivor Series pay-per-view has reportedly been booked for Washington, DC and there is already talk that Batista may be returning there. DC is Batista's hometown.
-- As noted before, Rey Mysterio and other WWE talents have been voicing concerns with their pay as of late. There was talk at last night's RAW about wrestlers being upset that WWE would do something like give away a $235,000 gate just to get Donald Trump over as a babyface in a storyline that ended before it began.
- John Cena appeared on Bubba The Love Sponge's radio show earlier today and confirmed he is getting married to his high school sweetheart soon. Cena also noted that he's looking over more movie scripts and hopes to start filming something this fall. He said the audience is changing because of WWE's switch to PG ratings and said he wants to film a PG movie so all his fans can see it. Cena also noted how The Undertaker runs the locker room.
- Announced for this Thursday's WWE Superstars on WGN America is a Triple Threat for the WWE United States Championship with Kofi Kingston vs. MVP vs. Matt Hardy.
- Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio will face Edge and WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho in a "Rage in the Cage" match on this week's episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
- It looks like the Santina Marella character is done as Donald Trump "fired" it on RAW tonight. Still with Vince McMahon buying RAW back, I guess he could bring Santina back.
Jeff Hardy is the most popular wrestler
-- The post, issued Saturday evening, states that he is "week2week," implying that he still has not locked down a long-term plan for his future with the company. All indications from recent reports are that Hardy will ultimately sign a WWE contract renewal, although there remains a good chance that he will take some time off before fulfilling the commitments of that renewed deal. WWE remains very high on Hardy; a recent tidbit in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter cited a source in referring to Hardy as its "most popular wrestler."
-- PWInsider reports that Cody Rhodes is nursing a sore neck. Fortunately, there are no indications that it is a serious, prohibitive injury for the Legacy member.
- In an interview They asked how Cena came up with the YOU CAN´T SEE ME GESTURE and he said it was his little brother who came up with it and used it as an insult against him. He told his brother he was going to steal it and use it in the ring. His brother said he was bluffing so Cena took it as a challenge and told him he would get it on TV and it stuck.
--At the Grand Rapids TNA live show, Kurt Angle squashed the WWE return rumors. Angle announced that he loves TNA, wants to extend his contract with the company and that he will never return to the WWE again. He said he never wants to work for Vince McMahon again, despite his recent radio appearance where he said he could return to WWE if he wanted to, since his TNA contract is about to expire and he did not burn any bridges in WWE when he left.
- -- Regarding Sim Snuka’s release, it likely was not a Wellness Policy-related firing but rather due to creative not having anything for him. Snuka was last seen on TV at WrestleMania when he played a stunt camera man for Shawn Michaels to throw infront of Undertaker during a dive over the top rope down to the ringside floor. The spot was botched, and while it’s debatable whether Snuka was at fault or not, he ended up getting a little heat for it. He hasn’t been seen since and was given his release shortly after 5:00 PM on Friday, June 19, 2009.
-- WWE confirmed the releases of a SmackDown! Diva and RAW Superstar Friday. CM Punk turning Heel
- TNA Wrestling sources claim the company is definitely interested in Umaga (Eddie Fatu) and Mr. Kennedy (Ken Anderson), both of whom were released from WWE recently.TNA apparently sees money in a potential Samoa Joe vs. Umaga feud down the road. The 90-day no compete clauses of both Umaga and Kennedy expire about ten days from each other later this summer, so both could potentially join the company around the same time.A source close to Mr. Kennedy claims he's very much looking forward to joining TNA Wrestling, feeling he can be a top star in the company without restraints, such as those he felt he had while in WWE. Kennedy apparently felt he wasn't seen as a top star in WWE, but will be in TNA - and can be, if given the opportunity.
-- More bad news for WWE wrestler The Big Show. CourthouseNews.com reports that Paul Wight (Big Show) failed to reveal he owed the IRS $450,000, and now they have placed a lien on the home. The home is also part of the lawsuit.
-- During last night's broadcast of Raw in Canada, they ran commercials promoting the "Night of Champions PPV" in July, but nothing for "The Bash" which is the company's next PPV.
-- The current plan is for HHH and Randy Orton to have the last man standing match on RAW next week as promised last night, and then to have a rematch at The Bash PPV. Both matches are title matches.
Today´s Raw news
Rey Mysterio could quit!!!
- Rey Mysterio's WWE status remains the week's biggest mystery. Earlier this week, rumors, supported by the fact that Mysterio missed this week's television taping, claimed that the wrestler had quit WWE. Numerous media outlets quickly noted that Mysterio's absence was a scheduled break to nurse lingering injuries; it thus could not be used as evidence to support rumors of his giving notice. As the weekend rolled in, F4WOnline.com reported that while Mysterio had not, in fact, quit the company, he did have ongoing issues with WWE management. That source added Saturday evening that Mysterio's heat with WWE officials is a two-sided conflict over "money issues." More details were not available.Interestingly, F4WOnline's report only focuses on the tension between the two parties--it does not directly address the significance Mysterio's injury played in explaining his absence. In any event, Mysterio is not expected to leave WWE over the conflict.
- In an interview with the Charlotte Observer, former WWE Champion Randy Orton says he hopes to follow a different path than industry veterans like Ric Flair.Though he does not mention "The Nature Boy" by name in the relevant quote, it is clear that Orton does not believe wrestlers like Flair epitomize his ideal wrestling legacy.“I don't want to put myself in a position where financially I need to perform when I'm 60 or 50 or even in my mid-40s. There will be a time when I'm a dad of two or three and I just want to be at home with my family," says Orton.Orton nonetheless praises Flair's contribution to his success as a WWE performer. He offers, “He was one of my mentors when I started. If it wasn't for him and Triple H and my father [former wrestler Cowboy Bob Orton], I wouldn't be where I am now."
- There is talk that the supposed "four month" absence for Batista might be overstated hype on WWE's part. Sources have conflicted on the matter - some say he will take more time off (and not return until the Royal Rumble), while others believe he can return as soon as Summerslam. What is certain, however, is that Batista is indeed injured and did indeed undergo surgery - rumors to the contrary are absolutely false.
